Tersilla Maria was born and raised in Milan, Italy. In her early 20’s, a young Tersilla went to visit her Aunt in Trieste where she would meet an American soldier named Wesley Goodall. He was with his friends and she was with hers, but each were immediately smitten by the other. In the following months, Tersilla would visit him again in Trieste and he would visit her in Milano And between visits, they would exchange letters. Wesley returned to America to find work so that he could eventually marry Tersilla in Milano.

Upon her marriage, Tersilla left everything she knew behind. She and Wesley took a train to Paris, then Cherbourg, and finally boarded the Queen Mary in early December. After 5 days crossing the Atlantic, the two newly weds docked in Manhattan where Tersilla experiences for the first time the energy of a big city. The signature sky scrapers and traffic of New York City were unlike anything she had ever experienced.

After arriving in America, Wesley drove Tersilla down the east coast and then across Route 66 to their home in California. Tersilla & Co exists to carry on my grandmother’s legacy of love and adventure.
